Khartoum  is the capital of Sudan. It is located at the confluence of the White Nile flowing north from Lake Victoria, and the Blue Nile flowing west from Ethiopia. The location where the two Niles meet is known as "al-Mogran"


Divided by the Niles, Khartoum is a tripartite metropolis with an estimated overall population of over 6 million people consisting of Khartoum proper, and linked by bridges to Khartoum North called (al-Khartūm Bahrī) and Omdurman (Umm Durmān) to the west.

Across the Nile in Omdurman, Beet Al khalifa's museum is open it's ancient doors welcoming  the  visitors from all over the world , to tell stories about the Mahadia's era (1885-1899) and the national struggle for independence led by Muhammad Ahmed Almahdy  concluded by the great victory of Sudanese people over the English colonizers. Just few  steps of the museum you can find the very popular Mahdi's tomb.
